June 2019 News

I can’t believe its June already. How time flies! I wanted to post a news update before it got too far away from me.

First off, our annual conference was a great success and it would not have been possible without our hosts, Todd and Carl in Portage County. You were very helpful and gracious. Thank you for both of your efforts as well as that of your staff!

We had some great presentations that are on the forum for you to reference. Phigenics did a great job in informing us further about Water Management Programs. Maria Redmond spoke about various grants to fund our energy projects and she is very willing to work with our group. Please feel free to reach out to her office at OEI@wisconsin.gov. Patrick Glynn gave a very informative talk about the current job market and the positions in Facilities Management. Lastly, Randy Marquardt spoke about how to maintain various types of building envelopes. I hope that you were able to gain something to help you and your organizations. Thank You to all who were able to attend!

I also want to take the time to welcome aboard Gary out of Monroe County. It looks like we may also be regaining Price County after Keith’s retirement. Speaking of retirements, Deb from Polk County will be retiring soon and we want to wish her all the best in her new chapter! She led by example not afraid to roll up her sleeves and pitch in. You will be missed Deb!

I urge everyone to take part in this association to see its continued success. It looks like Jon & Doug may be hosting our next conference in Brown County. Thanks for stepping up fellas! Whether it is hosting or taking a board officer position, every contribution big or small helps us all. Please consider volunteering for a board position for this next term beginning in September. Open and available positions will be President, Vice President, Secretary, and it looks like St. Croix County will take the treasurer’s spot. Please feel free to contact any of the current board members if you are interested. I want to see everyone become the better because of this association as well as see us all play a role in it.

Have a great week everyone!
