August 2018 News

Hello everyone!

I just wanted to reach out to all of you and let you in on some exciting and behind the scenes news going on at WIFMA. First the events. We are planning on having a meet up in Wood County on October 4th to take a tour of our association president’s stomping grounds as well as a roundtable to discuss the present issues and challenges that we are currently facing. Reuben, thank you so much for hosting! Please be on the lookout for more details to come. Second is the Spring conference that we are planning for May 22nd and 23rd, 2019. So far, issues that will be headlining the event are talent retention and development with a presentation from Carlson Dettman. In addition, we are eyeballing a presentation on Legionella from passionate and lively experts in the field. If you would like to see any other topics covered, please feel free to reach out to us.

Wait… did I just mention a Spring 2019 conference? I can’t believe I am already talking 2019. I won’t mention what comes after that. How time flies!!! It is even more important now more than ever before, that we have a free exchange of ideas amongst each other to not only share best practices, but also share solutions, vetted vendors, and the documentation that can help us streamline and make our jobs easier. I have seen how well we have already helped each other through the interactions in the forum and the sidebar e-mails that have taken place. I would like to see that continue and become even livelier.

As summer winds down and I glaze at the ensuing seasons I realize that this WIFMA association, YOUR association, is closing in on its first year’s anniversary since the board was installed in September 2017. As a motley crew of awesome FM professionals, I feel that this first board has knocked it out of the ball park and set the association on a trajectory toward greatness in the state. We have definitely made much progress and I can truly say that it has been my pleasure to serve as this association’s 1st vice president. I am sure it will only get better and that the sky is the limit. With that, it is the board’s intent to share the responsibilities, joys, and rewards of being an association officer to the membership, thus the following positions are up for volunteer and/ or nomination.

  • President of WIFMA
  • Vice President of WIFMA
  • Treasurer of WIFMA
  • The Founder’s chair is irreplaceable: Jim Elsbury

If any of you fine Facilities Management Professionals would like to sign up, I can guarantee you that you will have this current board’s full support! If you would like to help out in other capacities, such as content creation and delivery, website and forum maintenance and support, or in any other capacity, you are most welcome and we will support you in every way that we can.

Final board officer selections will be made at the Oct 4th roundtable. Please submit all voluntary or nominations to the board at:
